FAMILY THERAPY

When working with children and young people, I offer individual and family sessions. By using individual and trauma focused family therapy sessions to address current triggers, this can help to reduce the broad range of symptomatology the children and young people are presenting with, leading to an improved view of self and resolution of present and future anticipated triggers.

Family Therapy sessions explore the relational family dynamics that are occurring, and how they may be impacting on the young persons’ presenting challenges and concerns.

I work collaboratively with parents/carers to find ways to better support the young person with the struggles they experience. I also explore current triggers and future challenges that may arise.

Working with the whole family system provides greater support to children, young people and their parents/carers and helps them to understand the connection between the distressing memories / experiences and the negative thoughts, beliefs and symptoms that have developed.
